Needle Nightmares May Be a Thing of the Past With New Vaccination Methods

Routine vaccinations have long sparked fear from children, and even adults, but scientists are studying several alternatives to threateningly large needles. 

Medical companies and academic labs are creating tools that use tiny needles, less than a millimeter long, to administer vaccinations, NBC4 media partner KPCC reports.

Their research also includes needle-free injectors, such as patches, that can send a vaccination into your blood stream in a fraction of a second.

Scientists are currently determining which methods work best, and some options are already on the market.
