President Obama blamed this summer's surge of unaccompanied kids at the Mexican border for his decision to delay executive action on immigration until after the November midterm elections, NBC News reported. “The truth of the matter is that the politics did shift midsummer because of that problem,” Obama said. He rejected criticism that the move is an attempt to help embattled democrats during a contentious election year, saying the reforms would be more "sustainable" if they're enacted after the highly-polarized political season. Obama made the comments to "Meet the Press" moderator Chuck Todd in an interview that will air Sunday on NBC.
