Netanyahu: Nuke Deal “Paves Iran's Path to the Bomb”

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu argued in a fiery speech before Congress Tuesday that a potential nuclear deal being negotiated by the United States "paves Iran's path to the bomb." Netanyahu said that world powers must work to stop "stop Iran's march of conquest, subjugation and terror." He also said Iran and ISIS were competing for "the crown of militant Islam," in what he called a "deadly game of thrones." Netanyahu earlier nodded to the controversy over his speech, saying he “regretted” that his being before the legislative body has been seen as political. ”I know that no matter what side of the aisle you sit, you stand with Israel," Netanyahu said. At least 40 Democrats had said they would skip the speech. House Speaker John Boehner broke diplomatic protocol by unilaterally extending an invitation for the prime minister to speak without consulting with the White House, a move many Democrats called a GOP-led effort to undermine President Obama’s foreign policy.
