Body of Missing Disabled Teen Aleah Beckerle Found in Vacant Indiana House

The cause and manner of her death have not yet been released

The remains of missing disabled teen Aleah Beckerle were discovered Monday, months after she went missing, NBC News reported.

Authorities found Beckerle's remains in a vacant, run-down home in Evansville, Indiana—the same town she disappeared from in July. There were no details released on who or what led to the discovery. The cause and manner of death also have not been released.

Beckerle, a 19-year-old non-verbal teenager was reported missing by her mother last July. Beckerle suffered a stroke as an infant, which left her almost completely immobile. Her wheelchair and daily medication were left behind when she went missing, police said.

Community members conducted large-scale searches, but little information was found.
