Body Cam Catches Woman Trying to Bribe Cop: Miami-Dade Police

A Florida woman is accused of attempting to bribe a Miami-Dade officer after she was pulled over for speeding in an incident captured on police body camera, officials said.

Margaret Garcia, 26, was pulled over for speeding the night of June 19 in the area of 79th Street and Northwest 27th Avenue. According to an arrest report, when the officer approached her car, he smelled marijuana and saw a bag of pot in the center cup console.

When the officer asked Garcia, who had pulled the top of her dress down to expose her bra, for her license and registration, she allegedly tried to hand the officer money instead, the report said. Body cam footage of the incident, posted on Slaterscoops.com, shows Garcia asking the officer "how much do I owe you?"

"You don’t owe me any money. I asked for your license and registration," the officer tells her.

"I know," Garcia replies, later adding, "What do you want? I just want to go home."

As the officer handcuffs Garcia, he tells her she is being arrested because "you reek of alcohol," citing an open container of alcohol on the passenger side of her car, the report said.

A male officer is heard in the video telling another policeman, "I don't know, bro. I've never come across that much spilled weed. It was everywhere."

"That's personal use, come on, take me in," Garcia interjects. "Yeah, personal use. What, what? I smoke weed. What?"

Garcia was booked on charges of bribery and possession of cannabis, and later released. No attorney information was available.
