You may need to make whipped cream the old fashioned way for your holiday dishes this year.

The Chicago-based food manufacturer that makes the popular Reddi-wip, Conagra Brands, confirmed Monday they have only a limited supply of nitrous oxide this year, according to the Chicago Tribune.

An industrywide shortage of the propellant used to create aerosol toppings was sparked from a fatal explosion at a nitrous oxide plant in Florida over the summer, the newspaper reported.

A Conagra Brands spokesperson told the Tribune that stores still have the product in stock, but supplies may be limited during the peak holiday season.

“We're encouraging people to buy it early," the spokesperson said in an interview with the Tribune. “There will be a shortage if people buy at the typical levels during the holidays."

The shortage is expected to impact all brands that use nitrous oxide in their food products.

Lawmakers in Tennessee are crying foul after Republican Rep. Mike Sparks sneaked in a resolution to honor former Ku Klux Klansman Nathan Bedford Forrest with a bust under a different name. The resolution passed unanimously, 94-0, and the bust was installed at the state Capitol before lawmakers realized the mistake.
