Suspected DUI Driver Kills Former Child Actor

Jordan Oschin was killed on Valentine's night while crossing a street in his Woodland Hills neighborhood

The mother of an ex-child actor killed by a suspected drunk driver called for police Saturday to crack down on speeders on the street where her son died.

Jordan Oschin, 32, died on Valentine’s Day while he was crossing Burbank Boulevard and Farralone Avenue in Woodland Hills.

He was hit allegedly by a 39-year-old driver who was speeding, police said.

That man was held on a misdemeanor DUI charge, police said.

“Nobody has the right to decide when somebody's life is over,” said Oschin's mother, Carol, during a candlelight vigil on Saturday.

After celebrating Valentine’s Day with his girlfriend, Oschin parked his car on Farralone, then walked across the street just before 10 p.m.

The street has a posted 25-mph limit and stop signs, but not a marked crosswalk.

“I want a light or a crosswalk,” his mother said.

Oschin was a child actor with a long list of credits, including an appearance on "The George Carlin Show" in the mid-1990s.

The family has set up a Facebook page where they're taking donations for his funeral. Carol Oschin said the coroner hasn’t released her son’s body because of a backlog of cases.
