Doctor Saves Boy From Drowning in Key Biscayne Ritz Carlton Pool

Cardiologist Amir Siadatan revived the 5-year-old boy after he was pulled out of the water.

A 5-year-old boy will be able to celebrate Thanksgiving with his family after a Good Samaritan saved him from drowning at a hotel pool Wednesday.

The boy was found floating lifeless in the deep-end of the pool at the Ritz Carlton in Key Biscayne at about 4:30 p.m.

Cardiologist Amir Siadatan revived the 5-year-old on the pool deck after he was pulled out of the water.

"Bringing a 5-year-old back, it's an amazing feeling," Siadatan said.

The doctor administered CPR until the boy came to, and by the time paramedics arrived, the boy was alert.

"I shoved everyone around, this is what I do for a living, so I calmed everyone down and continued the process and thank God he turned around within two minutes," Siadatan said.

Siadatan is humble about the experience, which was a close call.

"I don't want to take anything for this, I did what I had to do," he said. "Thank God I was there, I mean this is just pure luck that I was there."

The boy is now in stable condition at Miami Children's Hospital thanks to the Siadatan's quick thinking.

"If it wasn't for his quick action and responsibility to take action, we probably would've been standing here with a different circumstance," said Marcos Osorio, deputy chief with the Key Biscayne Fire Department.

Meanwhile, the doctor said the feeling of saving a life is one he won't soon forget.

"It is a feeling that nothing can replace. It's just like, you know, I did something right today, for this week, or this month, nothing replaces this," Siadatan said.
