Indiana Couple to Give Away Home in Essay Contest

The house is valued at $675,000

A southern Indiana couple is giving away a custom-built log cabin in an essay contest designed to focus on the positive in life.

Tim and Deanna Railing decided to give away their Columbus home to the winning contestant after hearing about a similar contest in Maine, they told WISH-TV.

The Railings are charging $150 per entry and want 4,500 entries from people willing to write a 250-word essay themed "A Life Well Lived." They'll refund the entry fees if they don't get enough participants.

The house is valued at $675,000. It features 6,200 square feet and an indoor pool on about 5 acres.

The deadline for entries is Nov. 16. An independent panel of judges will determine the winner.

Photos of the home and details can be found on their website and Facebook page.
