Man Pulls Gun on Girl Selling Cookies in Temecula

The girl was selling cookies door-to-door north of San Diego when the incident happened, police said

A California man was arrested, accused of pulling a gun on a girl selling cookies door-to-door according to officials in Temecula, north of San Diego.

The Riverside Press-Enterprise says deputies responded to a report of an assault with a deadly weapon shortly before noon Sunday.

Riverside County sheriff's officials told the paper they arrested the man and seized the gun for evidence.

The newspaper says the girl was going from house to house when she knocked on John M. Dodrill's door. Police say the 59-year-old Dodrill is accused of opening the door and pointing a gun at the girl.

The girl's father witnessed the incident and called the police.

Dodrill was taken into custody without incident, officials told the paper.

Jail records show his bail was set at $25,000.
