Former S.C. Officer Charged in Traffic Stop Shooting

South Carolina law enforcement on Wednesday arrested a former state trooper who shot an unarmed driver during a routine traffic stop at a gas station earlier this month, NBC News reported. Sean M. Groubert was charged with assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature in the shooting, which was captured on video by a camera in his patrol car. The charges carry a maximum sentence of up to 20 years in prison, according to NBC affiliate WIS-TV.
