Boasting About Sex Is Expensive

Here's the epilogue to a lawmaker's sex stories: $1.6 million

Talk is cheap -- unless your stories of sexual conquest are caught on a live mic during an Assembly committee hearing in Sacramento.

The Sacramento Bee reports that the taxpayer bill for former Assemblyman Mike Duvall's boasting amounts to $1.6 million. That figure includes the special primary and special general elections conducted to replace Duvall after he resigned.

So who will pick up that $1.6 million bill?

Assembly Bill 1769, introduced by Assemblyman Van Tran (R-Garden Grove), asks the state to reimburse Orange County for the elections. That bill will be heard Tuesday.

One commenter, who is probably not an OC resident, noted on the Sac Bee's State Politics page: "Orange county elected him, Orange county can clean-up the mess or go without representation."

Duvall, a Yorba Linda Republican, stepped down in September. His boasts -- later described by Duvall as story-telling (the inappropriate kind) -- to a colleague seated next to him at a Capitol committee hearing were captured on a live microphone.

"My offense was engaging in inappropriate story-telling and I regret my language and choice of words," Duvall said in a January statement.

Don't click the video above if you've already heard Duvall's dirty talk. Once was enough.
