GOP Hopeful Michele Bachmann Visits Southern California

Republican presidential candidate Michele Bachmann had a full schedule Friday in Southern California, as she visited Orange County, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, and addressed the California Republican Party convention, as it kicked off its 3-day event.

Prop Zero: Michele Bachmann Fits California in One Way

Backmann started her busy weekend at an outdoor rally at the Orange County Fairgrounds in Costa Mesa. Hundreds of supporters listened to Bachmann, who blasted President Barack Obama on the deficit and unemployment.

"If you take a look at this dollar under President Obama's watch, we have lost about 12 percent of the value of the dollar just in that time," said Bachmann to supporters, while holding up a $1 bill. "If it isn't bad enough that we've lost jobs, if it isn't bad enough that we haven't seen the economy grow, if it isn't bad enough that we've seen the value of housing drop, even the money we had is worth less now than when he came to office. Are you better off today than when Barack Obama took office?"

Bachmann needs to gain supporters in California, as the latest California Field Poll shows her trailing Mitt Romney and Rick Perry. The poll reveals that Romney is the GOP frontrunner here in California, leading the pack with 28 percent. Texas Gov. Perry comes in second with a 20 percent following. Fourteen percent polled are undecided, but no other GOP candidate, including Bachmann, has more than an 8-percent following.

Later, she made a stop in Burbank, appearing on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.

Then it was off to the GOP Convention, where Bachmann  was reaching out to Latino and Asian American Republicans. She spoke, as state Republicans kicked off their 3-day convention.
