Roundup: LA County's March 5 Election Results

Southland voters cast their ballots in several key races Tuesday night, including who would become Los Angeles’ next mayor, the fate of a Redondo Beach power plant, and two new leaders in the scandal-plagued city of Bell.

More than 50 percent of the vote is required to win the primary nominating election outright. The top two vote-getters advanced to a May runoff.

With 100 percent of precincts reporting:

Los Angeles Mayor: Eric Garcetti (33 percent) and Wendy Greuel (29 percent) headed for runoff.

LA Measure A: Half-cent Sales Tax: No 55 percent; Yes 45 percent

Los Angeles City Attorney: Mike Feuer (44 percent) and Carmen Trutanich (30 percent) headed for runoff.

Los Angeles Controller: Ron Galperin (37 percent) and Dennis Zine (37 percent) headed for runoff.

LAUSD School Board District 2: Monica Garcia (56 percent)

LAUSD School Board District 4: Steve Zimmer (52 percent)

LAUSD School Board District 6: Antonio Sanchez (43 percent) and Monica Ratliff (34 percent) headed for runoff.

Redondo Beach Measure A: Power Plant Phase Out: No 55 percent; Yes 45 percent

Bell City Council: Ana Quintana (33 percent) and Alicia Romero (21 percent) headed for runoff.
