Dodgers Go Back To The Future In Hopes of a World Series Title

The Los Angeles Dodgers turned back the clock on Saturday night at Dodger Stadium, when they welcomed cast members of the 1985 movie Back To The Future to Chavez Ravine.

46,807 fans in attendance got the thrill of a lifetime when the DeLorean from the original movie drove onto the field carrying Lea Thompson and other members of the cast.

Thompson threw out the first pitch that registered at 88 mph on the gun (the speed at which time travel is possible) and looked absolutely excited to be a part of the pregame festivities.

The 54-year-old actress rose to stardom playing Lorraine Baines-McFly, the mother of Marty McFly (played by Michael J. Fox) in the classic 1980s Back To The Future trilogies.

The Dodgers are hoping that the Saturday celebration of the classic time travel film can also alter their destiny this season. Los Angeles has not won the World Series since 1988 and would love to travel back to that Golden Era of Dodger baseball.

Los Angeles currently sits atop the National League West just 2.5 games ahead of the San Francisco Giants. With Clayton Kershaw and Zack Greinke both looking like Cy Young Award winners this season, the Dodgers are hoping this is the year they win it all.
