The Los Angeles Dodgers finally clinched the National League West championship.
The Dodgers downed second-place Colorado 5-0 Saturday night at Dodger Stadium.
The Dodgers had lost five straight games for the first time this season, while the Rockies had won five straight, closing L.A.'s lead to a single game with two to play.
But the roof caved in on the Rockies in the 7th inning, when the Dodgers scored five runs with RBI singles from pinch-hitters Ronnie Belliard and Mark Loretta. Dodger starter Clayton Kershaw pitched six scoreless innings.
With the win, the Dodgers won the NL West for a second straight season and locked up the home-field advantage throughout the NL playoffs with their 94th win.
The Dodgers will open the best-of-five Division Series by hosting the St. Louis Cardinals on Wednesday and Thursday.
