Lakers' Kobe Bryant Wears World's Most Popular NBA Jersey

Five-time world champion and Los Angeles Lakers star Kobe Bryant had the top-selling NBA Jersey internationally this past season, according to a league report Wednesday. The list was based on sales at Adidas locations outside the United States and marks the first time the NBA has ever compiled this information.  

Bryant topped Chicago’s Derrick Rose and Miami’s LeBron James for first place.  Kevin Garnett of the Boston Celtics and Dwight Howard of the Orlando Magic rounded out the top five.  Exact sales figures were not released.  

In April the NBA announced that Rose had the best-selling jersey in the United States over the regular season, with Jeremy Lin of the New York Knicks coming in second. Kobe Bryant finished third. 

According to the NBA, for the sixth consecutive year Bryant had the top-selling jersey in China.  Bryant, 33, was also the league leader in sales in Europe and Latin America.

Bryant’s partner in crime, Pau Gasol, finished 11th on the league’s international list, while Clippers star Blake Griffin finished ninth.
