Lakers Announce 2017 Preseason Schedule

On Thursday, the Los Angeles Lakers announced their 2017-18 preseason schedule

On Thursday, the Los Angeles Lakers revealed their 2017 preseason schedule with the exhibition season set to start on Sept. 30, 2017 in Anaheim against the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Due to the 2017-18 NBA regular season starting a bit earlier than years past in an attempt by the league to cut down on stacking games during the season and avoiding stars resting due to a busy schedule, the Lakers will be back in action sooner than ever before.

In addition, the preseason schedule has also been shortened to only six games. LA will still hit the usual stops in Anaheim, Ontario and Las Vegas, but the team is not making its annual trip down to San Diego in 2017.

Following the opening game in Anaheim, the Lakers host the Denver Nuggets at Staples Center on Oct. 2nd before facing the same team two days later in Ontario at Citizens Business Bank Arena. Two days after that, on Oct. 8, the Lakers will face the Sacramento Kings at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

Luke Walton's team will then return home to wrap up the preseason with an Oct. 10 game against the Utah Jazz at Staples Center and a city rivalry game against the LA Clippers on Oct. 13 at the arena that both teams call home.
