A nagging injury will keep another Lakers star out until late February.
The Los Angeles Lakers announced on Monday morning that shooting guard Josh Hart will be out until after the NBA All-Star break after receiving a PRP (platelet-rich plasma) injection in his right knee.
Hart has been dealing with nagging tendinitis in the knee for most of the season, but it has been more prominent in his play on the court recently. The Lakers have just one more game (at Atlanta) before the NBA All-Star break, and won't take the court again until February 21st against the Rockets. That gives Hart nearly two weeks of rest between appearances on the court to rest and treat the ailing injury.
Hart struggled in almost eight minutes of action in the Lakers victory over Boston on Thursday, but hasn't played more than 20 minutes since February 2 against the Golden State Warriors.
The Lakers guard is averaging 8.5 points, 3.9 rebounds and is shooting just 33 percent from beyond the arc this season. After starting the season hot, shooting the three-ball at a nearly 41 percent clip, Hart's shooting numbers have dropped as his knee has gotten worse.
Hopefully, the two weeks of rest, paired with the PRP injection can get the old Hart back on the court just in time for a final playoff push down the home stretch of the season.
