Andruw Jones had a lot more awkward swings than smooth ones last year.

It's just like a White Elephant Party, where you bring the Sponge Bob Square Pants talking cookie jar you got for Christmas and hope someone else ends up with it, only to see other people fight over your junk.

Apparently, somebody wants to take Andruw Jones off the Dodgers hands.

Andruw Jones, coming off a disastrous first season with the Los Angeles Dodgers, has been the subject of trade talks between L.A. and the New York Mets, according to sources…..There is a perception within the industry that Jones, who played the first 12 years of his career in Atlanta, was just never comfortable with the Dodgers.

You bet he wasn’t comfortable, he hit .158 and struck out 36% of the times he went to the plate. By the end of the year he wasn’t comfortable sitting on the bench watching the Dodger youngsters do what he couldn’t.

The first reaction may be to ask why someone would want Jones. But the Dodgers need to curb that urge and just make the deal. Any deal. Getting him off the roster is just one fewer problem heading into next season.
