Parking will be free, but getting out still might be a free-for-all.
There goes one excuse for not going to a Dodgers game.
The team announced Sunday that free parking will be available at Dodger Stadium for the June 16-18 series against the Oakland Athletics.
The $15 fee will be waived for entrance into the general parking lots. Fans who have purchased preferred parking will still park in their sections.
"This gesture is our latest initiative to help ensure that all of our fans can enjoy our national pastime at Dodger Stadium," Dodger Chief Executive Officer Jamie McCourt said. "With the conclusion of the school year, we want to make it even easier for families to spend their summer evenings with us."
The Dodgers drew criticism from some fans in 2007 when they raised the parking price from $10 to $15 to pay for parking improvements and additional parking staff. The parking price has remained unchanged since that 50 percent increase.
