Raiders Menelik Watson Gives Girl, 4, With Heart Defect His Paycheck: Report

The Raiders are getting league-wide attention after going above and beyond for a 4-year-old fan battling a heart condition.

Young Ava was born with half a heart and has had 14 surgeries to try and correct the condition.

The Raiders not only took her in, but signed footballs, a helmet and made her captain for a day.

Then, one Raider went even further.

According to Fox Sports, offensive lineman Menelik Watson gave Ava's father his game check, just to make sure she had the best holiday ever.

Watson makes almost $37,000 a week, which would be about $18,000 after taxes.

The Raiders do plenty of nice things for sick people. Last week, some of the team visited the Kaiser Permanente San Leandro Medical Center, visiting patients and distributing gifts.
