Sasha Vujacic said Monday he knew nothing about it. The Lakers front office, as is its policy, wouldn’t even pretend to discuss it.
But in a New York Newsday story today about the retirement of Cuttino Mobley, it is said that the Lakers are shopping Sasha Vujacic.
Vujacic is playing 15 minutes and averaging 5 points per game for the Lakers, numbers that are down from last year. Coach Phil Jackson has struggled finding a role for the Slovenian this season. At the close of last season and through the playoffs, his role was to be on the floor to close out games, but now those minutes are going to Trevor Ariza, a more active defensive player.
