Scully Tells Bin Laden Anecdote

Leave it to Hall of Fame Dodger broadcaster Vin Scully to come up with one of the most unusual anecdotes about the killing of Osama bin Laden.

On Monday night's broadcast of the Dodgers-Cubs game, Scully made only one mention of the historic developments, but he made it count.

He was describing the scene the previous night at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia as the Mets were playing the Phillies. Word of bin Laden's death spread through the stands and the crowd began chanting "USA!! USA!!"

"And you know where they were in the game at that point? The ninth inning," Scully said. "The score tied 1 to 1. Nine one one. Nine eleven. How about that?"
