    The Doral Police Department may have a big addition to its reserves. Retired NBA champion Shaquille O’Neal applied to be a reserve officer on the South Florida city's force on Wednesday, according to the Miami Herald.

    O’Neal has a history of working with law enforcement. At one time, he was a reserve officer in Miami Beach. He also was sworn in last year as a part-time Golden Beach police officer.

    Shaq will have to go through a background check and will have to be certified by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, according to the Herald.

    O’Neal is also currently working with the TNT “Inside the NBA” pregame and postgame show.
