What can you really change from year to year with a golf video game? Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10 answers the question by adding even more features this season which are detailed in the embedded video clip.
Revamped putting controls provide a new wrinkle on the greens and from the tee to the pin the Wii version of Tiger 10 is best served with the MotionPlus peripheral as you take a much more precise approach to your swing.
There’s a new live tournament mode where you can play and post rounds in a variety of different tournament formats allowing you to play the pros and try to best their actual scores from that past week’s PGA Tour stop.
The game also has a mode where recent golf history is replayed and you take on the role of Tiger during some of his classic moments. The debate will rage on for decades regarding which major tournament win or milestone is considered Tiger’s best.
There are many to choose from and at the top of the list has to be the 1997 Masters -- his first Masters win at the age of 21 -- or his dramatic 14th victory at a major, the 2008 U.S. Open where he won on a sudden-death playoff hole having played the event on a torn ACL.
The 2006 British Open also has to be on the short list, as should the 2000 British where he became the youngest golfer in history to claim a career Grand Slam. We all have our own vivid memories of Tiger’s most fantastic moments.
If you could choose just one, what would it be?
Laurence Scott is partial to the 1997 Masters and fondly remembers interviewing Tiger at the Match Play Championship.
