The U.S. ended its winless streak against Japan in women's soccer Monday behind two goals from Diamond Bar's Alex Morgan in a 4-1 victory at the Volvo Winners Cup in Sweden.

Morgan and teammate Abby Wambach gave the United States a dream start. Both players scored in the first 10 minutes to help the U.S. jump in front.

Japan answered in the 26th minute, but Morgan and Wambach added second-half goals to end the United States' winless streak against Japan at three. Japan defeated the U.S. in the 2011 World Cup final and again at the Algarve Cup in March

The two teams drew 1-1 at the Kirin Challenge Cup in April.

The U.S. pressured Japan throughout, putting 11 shots on goal to Japan's two.

Morgan tweeted after the game, "So proud of this team!! Great win today 4-1 vs Japan, everything is falling into place after all our hard work and preparation."

The United States has one more tune-up game  -- a June 30 friendly against Canada in Utah -- before it opens Group G Olympic play July 25 against France.
