Blog Posts Apparent Clues About iPhone 5 Release Date

Tech blog tries to connect the dots to figure out when the iPhone 5 will be released

A release date? Not quite an official one, but a technology blog believes the clues left by Apple point to an unofficial release date around Oct. 5.

BGR.com reports that "a trusted source" alerted the blog of Sept. 16 release date of iOS 5, the Apple operating system. That gives a more specific launch time frame for the iPhone 5, according to BGR.com.

"iOS 5 beta 8 won’t be released until this Friday. After beta 8, Apple will introduce a Gold Master build on or around September 23rd as has been rumored. We believe that build is what will be loaded onto the already-assembled iPhone 5 hardware currently waiting for final software in China," wrote BGR's Jonathan S. Geller.

The blog reports Apple will need to request carrier partners, AT&T and Verizon, to give technical acceptance by Oct. 5.

So the release date? Maybe Oct. 6 or 7. It could lead to a great four day weekend for sales.
It's all speculation. There has been no official word from Apple.
