4 to Watch: Bolt Looks to Strike Gold, Again

Here are four events to watch in Thursday's action at the 2016 Rio Olympics

Usain Bolt has his sights set on another gold, this time in the 200m. He'll be in the spotlight Thursday during the final.

Also Thursday, Ashton Eaton goes for a second straight gold in the decathlon and medals will be handed out in beach volleyball.

Here are our 4 to Watch for Thursday:

1. 100 Down, 200 to Go 

Jamaica's Usain Bolt has captivated crowds at the track and field venue with a mix of flash and dash, already winning the men's 100m gold and making things look easy through the 200m preliminaries. The sprinting superstar goes for his third consecutive gold Thursday in the 200m against a field that includes only one American, LaShawn Merritt, after Justin Gatlin failed to qualify.

2. Decathlon Final

Oregon's Ashton Eaton has his sights set on becoming only the third man to capture back-to-back Olympic decathlon titles.

3. Hoops, They Did It Again

Team USA women’s basketball will face France with a spot in the gold medal match on the line. After a slow start in the quarterfinals against Japan, the U.S. went on an 8-0 run to close the second quarter and eventually win 110-64.

With its 47th straight Olympic win, the U.S. now faces France, which has never beaten the U.S. in Olympic play. The team includes Chino Hills native Diana Taurasi.

4. Back in the Ring

New Jersey native Shakur Stevenson climbs back into the ring in the boxing semis to face Russia’s Vladimir Nikitin. Stevenson is guaranteed a medal in the bantamweight division following his decisive win in the quarterfinals, but he’s planning on bringing gold back to the Garden State.

Men's Beach Volleyball Final: Medals will be handed out Thursday night at Copacabana in the men's competition. The gold medal match is set for 8 p.m.
