Dutch Artist's Giant Rubber Duck Coming to Philadelphia Fest

An 11-ton, 61-foot high yellow rubber duck designed by a Dutch artist will be floating on the Delaware River at next month's Philadelphia Camden Tall Ships festival.

A smaller, 40-foot duck appeared in Pittsburgh for about a month in the fall of 2013 and drew about a million visitors, most who came to have their pictures taken with the oversized toy.

Various versions of the duck designed by Florentijn Hofman have appeared in harbors and rivers around the world, including Hong Kong and Sao Paolo, since 2007.

The duck to visit Philadelphia from June 25-28 debuted at Los Angeles' Tall Ships festival last year.

The duck has already been brought to Philadelphia. It must still be inflated and placed on a pontoon by a crane so I can float during the festival.
