A charming bearded man in fitted blazer and hipster sunglasses from Down Under has popped on top of the Los Angeles "schizo-pop" scene with a vengeance. Or at least, with a quirky way of making you tap your feet and laugh at the same time.

"Are you well? Are you well within yourself?" said Andy Clockwise, the lead vocalist and front man of the band "Andy Clockwise."

He stopped by NBCLA's NewsRaw to talk with Mekahlo Medina about the release of the band's new EP, "Are You Well?"

Andy Clockwise is made up of three members, whom the lead singer met back home in Australia or here in Los Angeles on the bar circuit.

"As musicians, we listen to everything. So I'm also incredibly easily bored. I don't have a big attention span."

He doesn't, and maybe that's why he calls his band's music "schizo-pop."

"I'm a big fan of pop music. I love all different types of pop music: classic pop, you know mainstream pop, underground pop, all of these sort of these things. My album sort of reflects that and what we're doing. So it runs from electro to rock n' roll to folk music to whatever. I think that's pretty much what we listen to these days," said Clockwise.

Clockwise, by the way his real name is Andy Kelly, will perform with his band Friday April 2 at the Echoplex, and April 16 at the Hotel Cafe in Hollywood.
