"Fracking" Controversy Comes to SoCal

    Energy and environmental officials are touring the state to gather recommendations for new regulations on controversial “fracking,” using a high-pressure injection of water and chemicals underground to break up rock so that oil and gas can be released and pumped out. Hundreds of activists were expected to turn out Tuesday, June 12, when state officials met in Baldwin Hills. John Cadiz Klemack reports from Culver City for the NBC4 News at 5 p.m. on June 12, 2012.
