On this Thanksgiving I’m thankful for a full, warm belly and the company of my beloved family. I’m also thankful for all the AMAZING people I’ve met along my Ironman Arizona journey. I’m not being kind, or patronizing. I’m being honest. The endurance community is encouraging and supportive beyond belief! I’ve met friends I hope to keep for life.
I’m thankful that my body held up for months of endless training in a variety of conditions. Rain, extreme heat… none of it stopped me from reaching my goal.
I’m thankful that I surrounded myself with some of the most knowledgeable people when it comes to triathlon, running, and weight training. I’m not successful because of what I know, rather, taking the time to figure out what I didn’t know. To my coaches, I am indebted.
Lastly, I am thankful for the opportunity to share this journey. The feedback to the blog has been wonderful. As a newbie triathlete (no more), I decided to document the ups and downs of my path to Ironman Arizona. Sharing my experience has been remarkably rewarding!
Happy Thanksgiving!
