The City of Los Angeles is undergoing a movement to get more people out of their cars and onto bikes or on their feet. As such, some traffic lanes are being removed, which is what happened in the South Bay. But that move caused an uproar with residents, so much so that last week Los Angeles City Councilman Mike Bonin reversed the so-called “road diet” in Playa Del Rey. In this interview with NBC4’s Conan Nolan, Councilman Bonin explains his decision. Though this controversy seems to have been resolved for now, other “traffic calming” or “road diet” measures continue throughout the city.
