Special Olympics Southern California changes the lives of people with intellectual disabilities through sports training and competition. Children and adults with intellectual disabilities who participate in Special Olympics develop improved physical fitness and motor skills, greater self-confidence and a more positive self-image. More than 13,000 athletes in 11 counties participate in Southern California.
The 2015 World Games will be the largest event hosted by Los Angeles since the 1984 Olympic Games. Arriving from all corners of the world, 7,000 athletes will take the global stage in Los Angeles and show the world incredible courage, unwavering determination, and sheer joy.
