Twilight Stars to Hit the Black Carpet

Fans Have Waited for Days For the Premiere of the Latest Twilight Movie, Set to Premiere Thursday Evening

In Hollywood there are movie premieres, then there is the "Twilight: Eclipse" premiere.

Welcome to Twilight mania.

Hundreds of Twilight fans have lined up in downtown Los Angeles for a chance to see their favorite vampires and werewolves at the black carpet premiere of "The Twilight Saga: Eclipse," the third installment in the blockbuster vampire film series.

Some even waved signs offering proposals of marriage.

A tent city popped up in Downtown L.A. as early as Monday morning as fans waited to get wristbands for the black carpet, snag autographs and snap photos with stars Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner.

For some it is the story that attracts them.

"The story is what drives everyone in. Like the way that Edward loves Bella, it's like something that most people can't experience," said one Twilight fan.

Fans have traveled from Pennsylvania, Florida and Michigan and even Australia to see the stars Thursday evening.

"We got here so early so we could try and get a really good spot to be right up against the actual barriers, so we can get really good pictures, and also get the autographs," said one fan who traveled all the way from Australia. "I really don't think I'm ever going to experience, or see anything like this in my lifetime again."

The movie opens in theaters June 30, and scripts are in the works for more "Twilight" movies.
