Expert: Video Games "New Easy Target" to Explain Violence

    In the wake of a horrific mass shooting at a Connecticut elementary school, Wayne LaPierre of the National Rifle Association blamed a slew of media, including video games, for inspiring violence that could unfold in the form of a mass shooting. Video game guru Marcus Beer disagrees and says video games are the “new easy target” for a “segment of the population who don’t understand the new media.” Beer emphasizes that while violent video games are not meant for children, it’s up to the parents or guardians to monitor their kids’ behavior. NBC4’s Ted Chen and Michelle Valles interviewed Beer for Today in LA on Dec. 23, 2012.
