NBC4 Southern California Reporter Gordon Tokumatsu presents Lisa Ling with the V3 Visibility Award at the Asian American Journalist Association’s (AAJA) V3 Conference Opening Awards Reception on Friday, August 24, 2012 at the Pacific Asia Museum in Los Angeles.

The V3 Visibility Award honors a media personality who encourages acceptance of Asian Americans in mainstream pop culture. Lisa Ling is a high profile Asian American journalist who utilizes her large, influential social media presence and visibility to help others. This includes her involvement with ivolunteer.org and with secretsocietyofwomen.com.

AAJA Los Angeles V3 is the only digital media conference for Asian American Pacific Islander (AAPI) mainstream journalists, digital media journalists, bloggers and social media enthusiasts. It was created to highlight and expand multi-platform AAPI communications. The convention features interactive panels, workshops and other activities, where AAPI online journalists, creative social media communicators and seasoned bloggers share their experiences, knowledge, endeavors, and visions with others attending the day-long event.
