NBC4's Joel Grover Being Honored for Excellence in Broadcast Journalism

Bill Stout Memorial Award Ceremony on November 15

NBC4’s Investigative Reporter Joel Grover will be honored with the Bill Stout Memorial Award for Excellence in Broadcast Journalism on Thursday, November 15 at the Riordan Central Library at 7:30 p.m. The award ceremony will be presented by Community Advocates, Inc.

Grover is nationally known for undercover investigations, which often expose consumer fraud and government wrongdoing. He has consistently examined critical public affairs topics, allowing his viewers insights into issues that often receive insufficient media exploration. Grover, an award-winning journalist, is being honored for pursuing a career in the tradition of Bill Stout, a revered Los Angeles-based local and national broadcast journalist who was a frequent stand-in for legendary Walter Cronkite. Community Advocates, Inc. will also be honoring Val Zavala with KCET.

The emcee for the evening will be NBC4’s Weathercaster Fritz Coleman, among others from KCET’s SoCal Connected and USC’s Annenberg School for Communication. The event is free and open to the public. For additional information on how to attend the event, visit: www.cai-la.org.
