Chris Schauble

Chris Schauble is the weekday co-anchor of the NBC4 early morning news show "Today in LA" (5AM - 7AM) and the Channel 4 News Midday Report (11AM). He also serves as general assignment reporter for the station.

Chris Schauble is the weekday co-anchor of the NBC4’s popular early morning news show "Today in LA" (beginning at 4AM). He also serves as general assignment reporter for the station.

In January 2007, Schauble was named to the “40 under 40” list by the San Fernando Valley Business Journal. Since joining the station in June 2001, he has won a Los Angeles Area Emmy Award and shared in five Golden Mike Awards.

Schauble came to the NBC owned and operated station from KCNC-TV in Denver, Colorado where he had been a Reporter/fill-in Anchor for the station's 4, 5 and 10PM newscasts since May 1998. His extensive coverage of the Columbine High School shootings helped the station earn a local area Emmy for Best Spot News. In 2000, Schauble was named "TV Person of the Year" by the Colorado Association of Black Journalists.

Prior to KCNC-TV, Schauble was the Main Anchor on the 5PM, 6PM and 10PM Newscasts at WBMG-TV in Birmingham, Alabama from 1996 to 1998. He received an AP Award for Best series in 1996. From 1994 to 1996, Schauble served as the Morning Anchor for WSPA-TV in Spartanburg, South Carolina. From 1992 to 1994 Schauble was a Reporter/fill-in Anchor for WALA-TV in Mobile, Alabama.

Schauble holds a Bachelor of Arts in Broadcast Journalism from Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colorado. He was honored by Fort Lewis College with the 2002 Distinguished Alumni Award.

In addition to his work as a journalist, Schauble has been an Instructor for speech Communications, Media Research Analysis at Miles College in Birmingham, Alabama and was a guest Instructor at the Poytner Institute in St. Petersburg. He is an active member of the National Association of Black Journalists, Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, and Inc. and the Black Journalists Association of Southern California. As an adoptee himself, Schauble has dedicated much of his free time helping needy children find homes. He has been recognized with multiple proclamations from the City and County of Los Angeles for his community service. When Chris is not serving the community, he is passionate about fitness. He is a triathlete, marathon runner and an avid snow skier.

Schauble and his wife live in the Los Angeles area with two(!) sets of twin girls.
