Bjorklund came to NBC4 as a general assignment reporter in May of 2000. Prior to that, she worked for KTTV in Los Angeles as a general assignment reporter from 1997 to 2000, fielding reports from the ground as well as from KTTV-TV’s “Fox 11” helicopter. She also served as fill-in anchor.

Bjorklund began her broadcast career in radio in 1988 while attending Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. She was the news director at the school’s radio station KCPR and received a number of awards for her outstanding scholastic journalism achievements including the Excellence in Journalism Award and the Ed Zuchelli Award. From 1988 to 1989, she worked at KZOZ-FM/KKAL-FM in Arroyo Grande where she wrote, produced and anchored the daily morning broadcasts. Bjorklund then moved to KUHL-AM in Santa Maria in 1989 where she worked as a writer, producer and anchor of the station’s AP Award-winning newscast “The Morning News.” KTMS-AM/KHTY-FM in Santa Barbara was her next stop, where she worked as a writer, editor and anchor for the morning drive newscasts from 1990 to 1991.

Bjorklund moved into the television arena in 1991, joining KEYT-TV in Santa Barbara. Her duties included reporting crime stories and court trials for the weeknight newscasts and anchoring the weekend newscasts. While at KEYT-TV, she was honored with a Golden Mike Award in 1993, for her six part series on “Women With AIDS.” Bjorklund worked at the Santa Barbara station until joining KTTV-TV in Los Angeles in 1997.

She is a native of Northern California and now resides in West Los Angeles.
