KNBC won eight local area Emmy Awards, more than any other station in Los Angeles. The station took home two top newscast honors, Best Investigative Reporting and Outstanding Hard News Reporting, among others.

“A Child on Schindler’s List,” a half-hour special focusing on the life of Holocaust survivor Leon Leyson won the Crime and Social Issues Emmy. For a third consecutive year, Mary Harris took home the statue for Outstanding News Writer and the investigative team of Joel Grover and Matt Goldberg won their third consecutive Emmy for Best Investigative Reporting and Outstanding Hard News Reporting.

The “Channel 4 News at 5PM” was the recipient of the prestigious Best Newscast Over 35 Minutes and the station’s 11PM newscast took the top honor of Best Newscast Under 35 Minutes.
