Patti LuPone and Mandy Patinkin reunite at The Ahmanson, June 23-29
It's a little known factoid that if one hears any part of "Don't Cry for Me Argentina" then one has to sing or hum the entire song, in full, from start to finish. That's the way it is.
Likewise, if one watches the "Princess Bride" one will be saying, "Hello, my name is Inigo Montoya, you killed my father, prepare to die" five times a day for the next five days. Approximately.
And that Patti LuPone, a performer so famously associated with "Evita" and Mandy Patinkin, the man who brought Inigo Montoya to vest-wearing, long-haired life, should be tight friends with a glittery Tony-laden past should be no surprise. Clearly they are creating product that people kind of get inside of.
Ms. LuPone and Mr. Patinkin are taking their friendship, their Broadway-ish histories, and those big, big voices to the Ahmanson stage for a week of razzmatazz.
