Jeans Company Helps the Stressed Dress

Job seekers network, hobnob, and get a sweet pair of jeans, at a mixer on Monday, April 27

We'd stated before in this very space how much we like the unusual combo. The laundrymat/pizzeria. Milk with caffeine. Sunshine during a thunderstorm. And so the news that a clothing company is going out of its way to help those hitting the pavement in search of employment with a jeans giveaway delights us, truly.

On Monday, April 27, at the Hotel Palomar in Westwood, !iT Jeans and PinkSlipMixers.com are laying out pants-flavored goodness for job seekers. Any person who has ever looked for a new gig knows that the pick-me-up perks are few and far between, and that the days of fretting can take a toll (and fast). In other words, something nice is, well, just nice. And free jeanery is very, very nice.

There are some things to know before making for Westwood. You'll need to prove you are unemployed, for one (in other words, if you are employed, don't try and pull a fast one; be kind to those people really needing a little something-something at the moment). And there is Twittering involved, too, on the job seeker/prospective pants-getter's part, so get all the details before dropping everything for those new trou. Lastly, look forward to some handy networking going down, too, which is so very essential while on the hunt.

The upshot again: nice. Very nice, and we think more companies could be mixing the stew and/or shaking the snowglobe and/or trying different things to help people on the job search while also getting their own brand outs. Really, why not? Good all around.
