JetBlue Lands in LAX

JetBlue, which already flies out of Long Beach and Burbank, welcomed its first flight from New York to Los Angeles International Airport today.
The flight arrived mid-morning at LAX from New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport, and was greeted by JetBlue Chief Executive Officer Dave Barger and Los Angeles World Airports Executive Director Gina Marie Lindsey.
The flight marks the beginning of JetBlue's service between LAX and New York and Boston's Logan International Airport. The New York-based carrier will offer two daily nonstop flights each way between LAX and Boston and LAX and New York. There will be no Boston flights on Saturdays.
The flights will originate at Terminal 6 at LAX and utilize 150-seat Airbus A-320 jets.
"We greatly welcome the start of JetBlue's new cross-country service, which is sure to be welcomed by air travelers looking for more service options and great value in today's economic environment," Lindsey said. "The addition of JetBlue is a reflection of the progress made in our work to revitalize LAX."
JetBlue previously offered flights to the East Coast and other locations only from Long Beach Airport and Bob Hope Airport in Burbank. Those schedules will remain unchanged.
The addition of LAX brings to 56 the number of airports served by JetBlue.
