Who Wants to Be a Millionaire…Again

Apparently “Cancelled” was not the final answer to the primetime “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire.” The 2002 hit show is poised to make its return and is looking for would-be contestants.

"Who Wants to Be a Millionaire" will air on ABC over 11 nights beginning Aug. 9, marking the 10th anniversary of its U.S. debut. Regis Philbin will return as host. The primetime show was cancelled in 2002 after declining ratings although a syndicated version hosted by Meredith Vieira has aired since then.

Hopefuls can call (800) 999-7878 between 4 p.m. and midnight today through July 15 and attempt to answer general knowledge questions by putting the four answer choices in correct order. People correctly answering all five questions will select one of the six available tape dates.

A random drawing will be held from among all the people selecting the same tape date to receive an eligibility call to qualify to become a finalist on the program. Those who meet all the eligibility requirements will be flown to New York City with a companion to appear on the program.
