FRIDAY NIGHT SING-ALONG: You sang alongside harmonizing strangers to Abba last June. Then you took on Beatles and Broadway later in the summer. Now the time is nigh for the final '09 Friday Night Sing-Along on the Music Center Plaza. The theme is, no surprise, Halloween. Expect tunes with a terrifying edge. Expect to pay no admission. Expect to be there well in advance of the special 6:30PM start time.
A HALLOWEEN HOEDOWN! You have boots with tiny skulls on them, yes? Slip them on and boot-scoot down to Westwood for this Hammer event. It's not too horrifying, we promise, though there will be eek-ish crafts. And lots of bluegrass, courtesy of the Shadow Mountain Band, to shake your costumed booty to. Plus, a cash bar and food. Like we said, not too horrifying. Rather pleasant, actually. And it's free. 7PM.
HAUNTED HOLLYWOOD SCAVENGER HUNT: If you're ever exiting off the 101, at night, and you're in the passenger seat, and you are free to gaze out the window, your eye is often drawn to all that rooftop neon. The Knickerbocker. The Roosevelt. The many hotels and buildings of Tinseltown. If you thrill to atmospheric Hollywood, join this public hunt and search for spooky clues. You'll be taking in a lot of those sign-blessed landmarks while you're looking. 5:30PM; email for starting location.
