LA Philharmonic
Gustavo Dudamel's Inaugural Concert is at Walt Disney Concert Hall on Thursday, October 8th.
THE INAUGURAL CONCERT: You've see the "Gustavo Vibrante" and "Gustavo Bravo" banners all over town; now the night has arrived for Gustavo Dudamel to take his place before the Los Angeles Philharmonic at Walt Disney Concert Hall. People will even be watching our new conductor from Music Center Plaza -- tickets were given away for that, too -- but you can listen on KUSC 91.5 FM. Works by Adams and Mahler are on the program. 7PM
STEWART COPELAND AT AMOEBA: The drummer for the Police and pioneering music producer will be signing his new book -- titled "Strange Things Happen: A Life With the Police, Polo, and Pygmies" -- at Amoeba Records at 6PM. Amoeba mentions on its site that Vroman's is also hosting. We support the music store/bookstore pairing, just in general. What other rocker/writers out there can they spotlight?
RIVERSIDE RESTAURANT WEEK: Taste of Downtown Burbank was just a few days back; dineLA Restaurant Week is on now. And we'd be remiss if we didn't mention that several eateries around Riverside are also offering discounts. We're sweet on that Mission Inn patio, but several spots are participating. It's on through October 10th. Time for a road trip?
