THE RAVEONETTES: Oh but the songs veer between slinky-cool and fuzzy and then back again to slinky. The Danish twosome have down a certain stylish, retrofied rock that comes bearing strange gifts. "Aly, Walk with Me" to the Fonda at 8PM.
SPIRITS WITH SPIRITS: Halloween may have stopped its nocturnal mischief a fortnight back -- we said "fortnight" because you have to when talking about Halloween -- but today is Friday the 13th, and GHOULA is making for an atmospheric bar for drinks and ghosty conversation. Tonight's location: Beautiful La Golondrina on Olvera Street. Have a horchata if you go. 7PM
SIMI VALLEY TREE LIGHTING SPECTACULAR: It's always the question come November: What town will be the first to light the big pine? Looks like Simi Valley might take the seasonal crown this year with a Christmas party tonight. Soon, the other malls and villages will follow. If you're all about the Noel, the celebration begins at 5PM.
