LUNAR NEW YEAR CELEBRATION: The San Gabriel parade just passed; the Golden Dragon dances through Chinatown a week from Saturday. But tonight the UCLA Chinese Student Association greets the Year of the Tiger with a free, open-to-the-public party at Ackerman Ballroom. 7-11PM

RED HEN PRESS NIGHT: Writers are the focus of this evening of literature and authorly dialogue. The place is the Geffen Playhouse; the writers include Wanda Coleman, Brendan Constantine, and Albert Goldbarth. Red Hen nights only happen every two months or so, bookly buffs, so take note.

PEE-WEE ON THE LARGE SCREEN: His much ballyhooed Club Nokia run just wrapped last night. If you're still needing more Pee-Wee, "Pee-Wee's Big Adventure" is at the New Beverly. Look for SoCal locations throughout this one, like the streets of South Pasadena. Some Three Stooges shorts are part of the program. Everything starts at 7:30PM.
